Nelson Blueliner Women's Hockey

Welcome to our webpage. Here you will find current information on what the Nelson Blueliners are doing in the 2007-2008 season as well as current and archived photos. Our home rink is in Nelson, B.C., Canada. We live in the Kootenays - an area within the Interior Rainforest region of the Columbia Mountains of British Columbia. We are a recreational women's team that plays local teams such as Trail, Nakusp, Kaslo, Castlegar and Spokane and in tournaments where we meet teams from the rest of B.C., nearby Alberta and states such as Washington, and Idaho. We host a tournament in early April (the Icebreaker) where we invite seven or more teams to play in Nelson (contact rholt@netidea.com) for information about bringing a team to the Icebreaker (2010 Tourney information). Blueliner Commandments

Thou Shalt Not stand in front of thy goalie as if thou wast invisible;
Thou Shalt Not make woo-woo passes;
Thou Shalt always have two hands on thy stick;
Thou Shalt pass only to Blueliners;
Thou Shalt Not catapult into thy goalie;
What is said in the car stays in the car;
Thou Shalt Not hit thy goalie on the head with the puck;
Thou Shalt shoot while on thy skates, not while on thy stomach;
Thou Shalt Not cause a breakaway - and then land on thy butt;
Thou Shalt Not upset thy goalie;
Thou Shalt Always have thy stick on the ice;
Thou Shalt Not knock thy center down when on a 2 on 1 beakaway;
Thou Shalt keep thy head up, stay onside and always pass back to the defence;
Thou Shalt do as thy captain says, not as thy captain does!
Thou Shalt Not panic-pass the puck;
Thou Shalt Not wear mis-matched socks in a game;
Thou Shalt "regroup"!
Thou Shalt Not try to skate in thy skate guards;
Thou Shalt Not protest "who me?" when given a penalty-
unless of course, thou art innocent;
Thou Shalt Not get caught by the ref;
Thou Shalt Not be the third defence out;
Thou Shalt Not make a line change in thine own end;
Thou Shalt strive to be a mature athlete;
